Privacy Policy — Fire Alarm Prep

Applies to the Android application com.tapforgestudios.nicetprep.
Last updated: 10 August 2026

The short version. Fire Alarm Prep has no accounts and no signup. Your study progress, answers, bookmarks and notes are stored only on your device and are never uploaded to us. We do not sell personal information. The only data leaving your device comes from Google AdMob, which serves the ads in the free version — and buying the ad-free upgrade stops that too.

1. Who we are

Fire Alarm Prep is published by TapForge Studios (99 Cent Apps LLC), an independent software developer based in Indiana, USA. Contact: contact@tapforgeapps.com.

2. Information stored on your device

The app stores the following locally, in its private application storage:

This information is not transmitted to TapForge Studios. It is removed when you clear the app's data or uninstall the app. Android's own backup feature may include this data in your device backup if you have that enabled in your Google account settings.

3. Information collected by advertising

The free version of the app displays ads through Google AdMob in three places: a banner at the bottom of some screens, an occasional full-screen ad after a practice session, and an optional rewarded ad you can choose to watch in exchange for unlocking one full-length mock exam. The rewarded ad is never shown unless you tap to start it. AdMob may collect and share the following in order to serve and measure these ads:

Data typePurposeShared
Device or other identifiers (advertising ID)Advertising, fraud preventionYes
Approximate location, derived from IP addressAdvertising, regional complianceYes
App interactions and ad performanceAnalytics, advertising measurementYes
Diagnostics and crash dataApp stability and performanceYes

This collection is governed by Google's privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy. You can review Google's partner practices at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Your consent choices

Where required by law — including in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland — the app presents a consent form through Google's User Messaging Platform before personalized ads are shown. You can reopen that form at any time from Settings → Privacy options inside the app to change or withdraw your choice.

On Android you can also reset or delete your advertising ID from Settings → Privacy → Ads on your device.

Removing ads entirely

Purchasing the one-time ad-free upgrade disables the advertising SDK, after which the app makes no advertising network requests.

4. Purchases

In-app purchases are processed entirely by Google Play Billing. We never see or store your payment card, billing address or Google account details. The app receives only a confirmation that the product was purchased. Google's handling of that transaction is covered by Google's privacy policy.

5. Permissions the app requests

The app does not request access to your contacts, camera, microphone, precise location, photos or files.

6. Children

Fire Alarm Prep is a professional certification study aid intended for adults working in the fire protection trades. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

7. Data retention and deletion

Because the app has no accounts and stores nothing on our servers, there is no account for us to delete. To remove everything the app has stored, use Settings → Reset progress inside the app, or clear the app's data or uninstall it from Android Settings. To limit what advertising collects, reset your advertising ID or purchase the ad-free upgrade.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict the processing of personal information, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We do not sell personal information. For requests relating to advertising data collected by Google, contact Google directly using the links above. For anything else, write to contact@tapforgeapps.com and we will respond within 30 days.

9. Security

Data stored by the app stays in Android's private per-application storage, which other apps cannot read. Data transmitted by the advertising and billing SDKs is encrypted in transit.

10. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, the updated version will be posted at this address with a revised date, and the change will be noted in the app's release notes.

11. Not a government application

Fire Alarm Prep is published by an independent private developer. It is not a government application and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any government entity, nor by NICET, NFPA, UL, ICC or ASME. It is a study aid that summarizes publicly available codes and standards; always verify against the adopted code text and your authority having jurisdiction.
